> RETROFITTING THURSDAYS: Sustainable energy in the city

On Thursday 26 November 2015, the strategic platform Brussels Retrofit XL organises a KNOWLEDGE SESSION on SUSTAINABLE ENERGY IN THE CITY.

Whereas sustainable energy is often associated with large off-shore wind farms or hydro-electric power stations, cities have the potential to generate, capture and store a part of their energy needs on-site. Both wind and solar energy can be exploited at rooftops, the ground beneath the city can be used for geothermal installations and energy can be stored in buildings to bridge peak moments.

This knowledge session discusses the potential of different technologies for energy generation in an urban environment, through cutting-edge research results and practical case studies. There will be ample opportunity for discussion and networking.

Place to be is the Buildwise Brussels meeting center (Avenue Poincarélaan 79) in Brussels. Start at 14:00.
Participation to the event is free, but registration is required before November 20th, 2015 under ‘Upcoming events‘ on this website.
